February 23, 2013 saw the start to the second race of the Rally America National Championship Series in Salem, MO at 100 Acre Woods. This Rally is known to be one of the most scenic races in the series. The race got its name from the storybook home of Winnie the Pooh. The event takes place in the foothills of the Ozark Mountain range and is home to some of the tightest and fastest roads in the series. Every twist and turn puts the drivers ability to the test, including Lauchlin O’Sullivan and our own Scott Putnam from CPD racing.
They came into the event with a freshly built 2008 Subaru WRX STI backed by Lucas Oil, Wolf LED and Morrie’s Subaru. Even with the limited time in the new WRX STI rally car O’Sullivan and Putnam were able to place 1st in the Super Production class and 3rd overall.
This past weekend the CPD Racing 2008 WRX STI was displayed on Fremont Street in Las Vegas as part of the Mint 400. Over 10,000 fans were expected to attend the pre-event show where the car sat beside the Subaru of America display.
We look forward to see how O’Sullivan and Putnam do at the Oregon Trail Rally in Portland, OR on May 3-5th.
