Morrie’s Tackles the Windy City – Chicago Auto Show 2017

It’s been awhile since we’ve been to the Chicago Auto Show, but seeing as how it’s the biggest show in our (sort of) backyard, we figured we’d make a road trip out of it and go check out the Windy City for a couple days. Thanks to our friends at Morrie’s Luxury Auto, we had a gassed up 2017 Maserati Ghibli to get us across Wisconsin and to McCormick Place, home of the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.

Unlike most of the other shows we go to, the Chicago Auto Show doesn’t feel nearly as crowded. Maybe it’s because McCormick Place is the largest convention center in the country, or maybe it’s because Chicago isn’t exactly an automotive hub, but it meant smooth sailing for us as soon as we walked in the door. The only downside to having no traffic or crowds to contend with in such a big venue is that now our feet are sore from all that walking! There’s just so much to see and do, and we absolutely made the most of it.

Highlights for us included a sinister-looking black and orange Ford GT that was greeting us at the entrance to the show as well as the all-new 2018 Expedition and Mustang GT. Subaru debuted the new 2018 Legacy, as well as refreshed WRX and STI models. Nissan also updated nearly all of its sedans and crossovers with a new Midnight Edition trim that included blacked out wheels and accents. Hyundai rolled out the Elantra GT in the US for the first time, and we also had our first look at the new 2017 Mazda CX-5. Of course, there was plenty more than that, so make sure to click through the gallery to see everything!
