Yesterday we joined with members of the West Bend, Wisconsin, community to kick-off construction of Morrie’s newest dealership, Morrie’s West Bend Honda. Not only is Honda a new brand for us, but West Bend is also a new community for our organization to grow into. The groundbreaking was our first official public introduction to the neighborhood and included several representatives from Morrie’s, West Bend Mayor Craig Sadownikow, ambassadors from the West Bend Chamber of Commerce, representatives from American Honda Motor Company, and several local residents and West Bend Community members.
During the brief groundbreaking program, Morrie’s CEO Karl Schmidt introduced the community to Morrie’s, our Buy Happy approach to business and to Tiny Morrie’s Honda—our platform for interacting with the West Bend Community in the months leading up to the opening of the dealership in Summer of 2018. He shared his enthusiasm for the new dealership and his excitement for bringing moments of happiness to West Bend. Bob Spittstoesser, Morrie’s West Bend Honda General Manager, echoed similar sentiments noting that he’s looking forward to moving his family to the area and getting fully immersed in the community.
On behalf of Honda Motor Company, Bruce Lee, Honda Zone Manager, thanked Morrie’s for its commitment to the Honda brand and its investment in the West Bend community. Schmidt noted that, once fully operational, Morrie’s West Bend Honda will create between 55 and 70 new jobs in the area.
The program closed with West Bend Mayor Craig Sadownikow speaking about how West Bend was founded by entrepreneurs. He spoke about the individuals, families, and organizations who saw an opportunity in the area to grow something for the future, noting that Morrie’s is taking a similar path. Moreover, he’s excited for Morrie’s to bring its secret automotive recipe for automotive happiness to the Wisconsin market.
The program and associated groundbreaking ceremony took place with Tiny Morrie’s Honda serving as the backdrop. Tiny Morrie’s Honda is the tiny before the big. It’s our way to get a head start on meeting the neighborhood and it’ll be a platform for community outreach until construction on West Bend Honda is complete.
