Over the past couple of months we have been doing quite a bit of remodeling and construction down here at Morrie’s 394 Hyundai. The work being done has been mostly focused on improving our customer experience through our service department. Ultimately we want to make your stop a speedier and more positive stopover each and every time you’re here. We have just about finished a completely redesigned car wash which is much more efficient than the previous one we had installed.
As a customer you will now have the option to purchase a “speedy pass” which will allow you, without even getting out of your car, to run through the wash during our business hours. You can always stop inside and have one of our car wash agents run the car through for you as well. We decided to go with 5 dryers (that’s 50 HP of dryers!) instead of the usual 3 commonly used on a car wash which is really making sure you’ll leave with a dry and happy car.
We also have installed new service garage doors which really add a much warmer feel to the service department as a whole inside and out. Above and beyond that a window was installed to easily see where to head once you pull into the garage. Now you can see the service writers waiting to help you just inside the door. They are waiting at their newly designed desks which allows room for our express lane for added ease when you arrive for your next express service visit.
All these things coincide together to make your service visit to Morrie’s 394 Hyundai a smooth and enjoyable experience. Remember you can always book your next service appointment online at Morrie’s394Hyundai.com under our service tab. If you have a Bluelink equipped vehicle you can follow the voice activated system in your vehicle to schedule your next service visit. Stop by and check out Morrie’s 394 Hyundai new and exciting look for yourself today!
After decades of building small affordable vehicles, Hyundai is really starting to make their way to the top in terms of quality and reliability. According to the latest Vehicle Health Index Report, Hyundai has surpassed Toyota which has been a giant for years in the industry as the lowest-cost repaired vehicle. What this means for current owners of Hyundai vehicles is that down the road you will be saving more money than any other car owner that bought from another manufacturer.
You are especially in luck if you own a 2010 Hyundai Elantra which breaks into the top 10 at No. 8 of the overall least repaired vehicles. This has been published through a website called CarMD which surveys the repair costs of all the manufacturers.
If you haven’t already considered a Hyundai the time may be now. Hyundai has the lowest cost of repairs among any car on the road, . Make sure to check out Morrie’s 394 Hyundai on the web or stop by to see for yourself what makes the Hyundai so great!
It was another busy day at the Los Angeles Convention Center for the 2013 LA Auto Show! We made sure to get plenty of coverage of all the Morrie’s brands, plus more to share with you. Here are more pictures and information from the latest debuts here at the show.
Nissan had quite the presence at the Auto Show this week with multiple Nismo performance vehicles including the all-new Nissan Sentra Nismo concept, the 2014 Juke Nismo RS, which will be available in January and finally the showstopper, the 2015 GT-R Nismo!

Ford’s main attraction this week at the Auto Show was the 2015 Edge Crossover Concept and it sure drew a lot of attention. We were excited to be able to see the concept that will hopefully pave the way for the future of the production model Edge.
We were very excited to be able to get a closer look at both the 2015 Subaru WRX and the Subaru Legacy concept! The WRX stole the show this week as auto enthusiasts have been waiting for the production model to be unveiled since the concept debuted last year in New York. The Legacy concept was just as beautiful as we had anticipated with menacing headlights and a low sleek roofline.

Kia’s k900 luxury sedan also debuted this week which gave us a better idea of the direction that Kia is headed with their transition to a full luxury lineup. Stay tuned for more information on when we will have one on our show floor at Morrie’s Kia.
We also got to see some excitement at the Hyundai booth where they brought an all-new Tucson hydrogen fuel-cell crossover, the 2014 Hyundai Elantra and a Veloster Turbo R-SPEC! Check out our pictures below.

Cadillac brought the Elmiraj concept to the Auto Show this week and it was constantly surrounded with individuals trying to get a gander. This vehicle is easy on the eyes with it’s long sleek sweeping hood, elegant look and gorgeous interior. This vehicle may not make it into production but we are keeping our fingers crossed. As well as the concept, Cadillac also had their recently revealed 2015 Cadillac Escalade on display.

The first press conference of the day, and arguably the most exciting, was Subaru’s where we saw the all-new 2015 Subaru WRX and the Legacy Concept. Attendees swarmed the stage following the press conference to look at the WRX and see how the vehicle has evolved since we saw the concept back in March at the NY Auto Show.
Nissan pulled out all the stops with an appearance by the company’s Director of Excitement, Usain Bolt, as well as complimentary beverages and their own Nissan NV grilled cheese food truck! The press conference was packed as they rolled out the 2014 Juke Nismo RS as well as a refreshed 2015 GT-R Nismo! Make sure to check out the photo of Usain’s signature pose below!
Ford got edgy this year with their all-new 2014 Edge crossover concept. The 5-passenger concept gives us a sneak peek at what lies ahead with the next generation Edge. Lately Ford has been focusing a lot on their driver assist technologies and it is no secret when you see what the Edge has to offer. A Collision avoidance system and a remote parking feature are enough to catch the eye of any consumer in the market for an affordable crossover vehicle.
Although the Maserati Ghibli has already landed at Morrie’s Luxury Auto, it was still very exciting to be in attendance for its North American debut today at the LA Auto Show. After you check out our photos, stop into Morrie’s Luxury Auto and take one for a test drive to get the real experience!
We made sure to stop by the Porsche press conference to get coverage for all of our luxury car fans and it sure was packed in there! The most affordable Porsche on the market, the Macan crossover compact SUV, debuted today as well as the 911 Turbo Cabriolet.
Hyundai was the last press conference of the day and as usual they did not disappoint! The crowd was packed as they unveiled a 2014 Veloster Turbo R-SPEC along with the new Tucson hydrogen fuel-cell crossover and the 2014 Hyundai Elantra.
Stay tuned for more live coverage from the LA Auto Show this week and make sure to find us on Facebook and Twitter for LIVE updates.
Our General Manager here at Morrie’s 394 Hyundai was just recently given the opportunity to travel to South Korea to tour the Hyundai Ulsan Plant. The Plant has a production capacity of around 1.6 million units per year so you can imagine there is a lot of ground to cover on a plant tour. The plant is comprised of five independent plant facilities which span 5,000,000 square meters. The plant tour is open to the public but, on this special occasion it was only targeted at general managers and owners of Hyundai dealers from the U.S.
Aaron Velick the General Manger here at Morrie’s 394 Hyundai was also given time to see the unique sites of the city and experience a completely different culture. Being able to tour some historic sites of South Korea and being caught up in the big city had to have been very exciting. A few sites from home like a McDonalds or Hooters, or the small street vendors selling a sorts of afternoon snacks can be quite the thing to see and experience. Also the vehicles themselves can be quite different from what we are able to get here in the States.
The Korean spec vehicles are sometimes a bit different like for example the Sonata Wagon (known as i40 in Korea pictured in white below) which can be a welcomed refresher.
Another great example of style and culture would be the Grandeur Art vehicle which is very similar to the Azera model that we have here. (pictured below)
A little bit of Korean barbecue and Korean hospitality was what really made for a great trip. (Picture of Korean barbecue below) All the U.S. Hyundai support dealer staff was on site and were very kind and generous, bringing a lot of fun to hear a different aspect for a completely different market. Also sharing the food and company of a different culture is a great way to make friends for years to come.
I realize it’s not quite winter yet and personally I’m not hauling kids to soccer practice or anything, but having an SUV for the evening was certainly a welcomed change. Something about jumping up into this SUV rather than fall down to the ground into my old car, gives you a feeling of comfort and security. I was able to borrow a 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T AWD (with the Leather & Premium Package) for the evening and I soon realized just how great it was. There were a couple things I noticed that I really enjoyed right away that I haven’t really given much thought to until I was actually using some of these features.
The available back-up camera that comes in the Leather & Premium Package is a 4.3” touchscreen color display and really makes life a whole lot easier. I feel like that, paired with the standard Bluetooth system is something once you have it, it would be tough to give up. Low and behold, I took the Santa Fe on Friday the 13th and was just waiting for something bad to arise and it never happened. Like I mentioned, it has the hidden sense of security until you actually realize how safe this Santa Fe Sport is. Vehicle Stability Management, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control all on top of Anti-lock brakes, these things are the platform from what safety is built on. I just felt like the more and more I drove around, the more I didn’t want to bring it back.
Not to mention Hyundai’s reliability factor and America’s best warranty a 10-year, 100,000 miles power train warranty (trumped by our Morrie’s Lifetime Power Train Warranty) and a 5-year, 60,000 miles bumper-to-bumper warranty.
So you’re probably saying, “What about space and room for all of my stuff?” Yes, I actually do need to haul my kids to hockey and soccer practice. Just behind the front seats alone there is 71.5 cubic feet of cargo space, which in real life terms means, in fact, you will be able to haul the kids around and all their junk no problem (I meant gear and bags…). The rear seats which are heated also with the leather package, conveniently fold almost flat on either side or just the middle can fold flat if you need room for the hockey sticks and still put all the bags in the back. I was starting to think that the more time I spent in the Santa Fe Sport, the more I could really get used to all this space behind me. I ended up at the grocery store and it was almost embarrassing how much more I could have gotten away with buying and fitting in the back.
So, on a final note, if you haven’t checked out the Santa Fe Sport (or the larger 7-passenger Santa Fe) for your next vehicle, I think you owe it to yourself to stop by Morrie’s and give it a test drive. Between the streaming bluetooth music, the perfectly placed buttons on the steering wheel or the quiet and comfort interior, this vehicle really showed it’s a strong competitor for any SUV buyer.
Adam Karon is a Marketing Manager in the Twin Cities and constantly on the move. We were happy to be able to provide him with a Hyundai Santa Fe for the night so he could get a feel for the convenience, safety and comfort this crossover has to offer.
The month of September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and 2013 marks the 15th year that Hyundai and the Hope on Wheels program have been helping to fight this cause. Every time Morrie’s 394 Hyundai sell a new Hyundai vehicle, $14 is donated to the program to help fund the research to fight childhood cancer. Since its inception in 1998, Hyundai Hope on Wheels has committed more than $72 million (and counting) to children’s hospitals and organizations nationwide to help fight kids cancer. The goal behind the program is to share personal triumphs of each of the children and their families all across the country.
The Hope on Wheels goal for this year is to gain 100,000 “likes” on Facebook to help build awareness and get the word out about the cause. On July 23rd the Hyundai Cancer Institute opened a location in the brand new Bill Holmes Tower at the CHOC Children’s in Orange County, CA. The project has come together from a 5-year long commitment that Hyundai has made and over $10 million invested which began in 2011. Many other grants are being donated to help the cause all over the country from the more than 820 Hyundai dealers nationwide.
Everyday nearly 50 children are diagnosed with cancer and while there are many advancements in cancer research, no child deserves to fight this alone. That is the basis from where the program was developed, and what keeps the program striving for more and improved research everyday. This is why the U.S. Hyundai Dealers, the Company, and thousands of customers look to donate to make a difference today. Make sure to “like” Hyundai Hope on Wheels Facebook page to help build the awareness with us. If you’re a runner/walker/jogger look up the Hyundai Hope on Wheels 5K events around the country to help support the cause in a town near you by clicking here.
“We’ve now raised over $72 million dollars, and ask everyone to join us this September on Facebook to raise awareness about this cause. ”
-John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America.
If you are considering the purchase of the 2013 Toyota Corolla, we think you would also be interested to learn a little bit more about the 2013 Hyundai Sonata. Here at Morrie’s we want to be sure you find the car that best fits your needs and make sure that you Buy Happy.
The 2013 Hyundai Sonata is a great fit if you are looking for a stylish, fuel efficient, and spacious midsize sedan. This vehicle offers both great standard and optional features, is stylish and comfortable, achieves great fuel economy, and was named Most Dependable Midsize Sedan in its class by JD Power & Associates.
It was a sunny Saturday afternoon in St. Louis Park, when Adam borrowed one of our 2013 Santa Fe Sport’s to do some shopping at Ridgedale Mall.
Adam’s mood, on the drive there, was not so sunny. A terrible anxiety griped him as his thoughts turned to the space assets of the vehicle. Adam had never tried to fit anything as large as the 52” TV and iMac, he was planning on picking up for his parents, into a Santa Fe.
