Today was the first MN C&C of the year and as expected, it was a great time! Thanks, everyone who came to the AutoMotorPlex to hang out and chat cars with us. We’ll see you next month for the May edition on MN C&C. We’re hoping for the same great weather we had this morning and we’ll have more shirts for those that didn’t get one this time. Lastly, don’t forget to enter our Morrie’s Road Trip contest for a chance to win our VIP parking spot and free premium coffee for the rest of the MN C&C events for the season by posting a photo of your car on Instagram or Twitter using the hashtags #morriesroadtrip and #mncandc.
Currently, my newest, most reliable vehicle is an 18-year old Toyota 4Runner. Being my daily driver, it spends 95% of its time on pavement, stuck in traffic, or running boring errands. But it’s that other 5% that is responsible for me sinking thousands upon thousands of dollars into maintenance and modifications. While my 4Runner is plenty comfortable to gobble up mile after mile of highway, it’s really happy as soon as the pavement ends. Like a pig in mud, my 4Runner is happiest in… err… mud. And rocks. And climbing up and down hills. And going over logs and ruts. The less of a “road” it’s on, the better. Which is exactly why I spent a day putting my 4Runner through its paces on the Spider Lake Trails in the Foot Hills State Forest up near Pine River, MN a couple weeks back with some other Toyota enthusiasts. Plus, it was a good excuse to take a #MorriesRoadtrip! More >
After spending road tripping out to Chicago for the 2017 Chicago Auto Show in a brand new Maserati Ghibli, we couldn’t help but wonder what other cars on the show floor would make great road trip vehicles. We loved the Ghibli for its ability to gobble up long stretches of highway and tight, twisty roads with ease, but depending on your situation, there might be even better options out there. So we figured we’d break down our coverage of the show into a list of our best road trip vehicles based on different possible adventures or goals.
