It’s always a good feeling to give back, and last night at the Morrie’s Heritage Car Connection Dojo we did something a little unconventional. Several Morrie’s employees came together to pack 100 backpacks with care for PAB’S PACKS, a local non-profit that has a very unique mission.
Their mission is to deliver backpacks full of comfort items to teens with chronic illnesses that spend a lot of time in the hospital. “PAB” is for Pia and Abbie, the founders and Chief Inspiration Officers of PAB’S PACKS. PAB’S was created after both Pia and Abbie (long time friends) spent time in the hospital dealing with their own battles with chronic illnesses. During their time in the hospital they both felt the need to help other teens in some way after their long stays and frequent visits to the hospital.
Each pack is filled with a items that are meant to give the teens some comfort and to let them know someone is thinking about them. A comfortable blanket, stress ball in the shape of a heart, Pabby the Penguin (their stuffed mascot), chap stick, a notebook, a pre-stamped postcard, and our favorite – a personalized note to the teen. Each personalized card is signed with “We got your back” to let teens know they are not alone in their circumstances.
Morrie’s and PAB’S PACKS will be hand delivering the backpacks tomorrow at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul. Morrie’s is excited to be partnering with PAB’S PACKS and we look forward to helping pack and distribute more backpacks in the future!

Halloween is right around the corner, so naturally we thought a Spooktacular party was in order! We invited Customers, Friends and Family out to the event – and what better location to host a Halloween party than the Morrie’s Heritage Car Connections warehouse? We dressed it up with spiderwebs, fog and a few other spooky surprises! Activities included Trunk or Treat, pumpkin tic-tac-toe, pin the spider to the web and pumpkin carving – with an automotive twist. Our talented graphic designers whipped up some MHCC-themed pumpkin templates along with a few beloved children’s characters like Baymax from Big Hero 6 and the Minions from Despicable Me, which were predictably a huge hit with the kids. Attendees weren’t the only ones who dressed up, either; a few of our cars had costumes of their own! The orange Volkswagen Thing made a great Jack-O-Lantern, and the Firebird, Land Cruiser, Bronco and Mustang all got makeovers to look like they stepped out of Pixar’s classic, Cars!
We had a fantastic time hosting and would like to extend a huge thanks to everyone that came out and made the event such a success – we hope everyone had a blast! Happy Halloween!
Last night, Morrie’s Heritage Car Connection kicked off the year with an inaugural founders meeting. We invited a select group of our closest friends and customers to come out to the “Dojo” to check out the cars and give us feedback on how to kick off the Morrie’s Heritage Car Connection when we launch next month. While one aspect of MHCC will be a club-like aspect based around members paying a monthly fee to access drive cars in the collection, we’ll also offer daily rentals to people who don’t necessarily want to participate in the club. We’d like to thank everyone that made it out to the event and we can’t wait to get you out on the road in some of our cars!
